I purchased this item for my 8 year old daughter because we had to put our 12 year old Boxer, Bully Wrinkles, to sleep and she was very upset. This was perfect for her and helped her during this difficult time. The toy has been running on the same batteries for several weeks and she sleeps with it every night. I would not recommend this for younger children because it is not soft and cuddly. Great for older kids.
