Fasdf J. from MaineIt is a good knife, sharp and the carbon steel is key. James N. from Ontario, CanadaA Great Knife for a great price! I am extremely impressed with the quality of this knife. It has a good weight to it and feels solid and strong in my hand. Shipping was the fastest I've ever seen (to Canada) It will be my MAIN knife that I carry into the Northern woods this winter , on my solo adventure.
*Note- Another great feature of Carbon Steel is that using a small area of the back of the knife (Never the edge) you can create a huge amount of sparks with Flint, quartz, obsidian,Mish metal etc.To start a life saving fire. With Stainless steel you rarely get a few sparks if any. James Neubauer N. from Hamilton, Ontario CanadaI really like this knife! It is of great quality and arrived razor sharp. It is the second GI Tanto I have purchased. The first had a para cord wrapped handle that actually came undone soon after I had it out in the wilderness. This model comes with Polycarbonate scales that are a lot tougher and more durable.
It does take some practice to sharpen a Tanto edge. It's not just a few straight sweeps with a sharpener like you would use for a clip, drop or spear point blade. The Factory edge it came with seemed to last forever. It handled cutting down small willows and saplings to create a makeshift shelter and handled acidic lemons and venison just fine in the camp kitchen too. (5 Stars !)
