Ellen R. from Effort, PAI love this machine. In the past I've used an electric pasta maker. Yes the electric maker was easier to use because of the push of a button versus the manual turn crank. But you have absolutely no control while the electric pasta maker is moving the dough through the machine. The manual hand crank is very easy to turn and when I need to stop it's immediate. I'm always touching the dough and therefore I have all the control of how my pasta comes out. I used it to make cannoli shells and it worked like a charm. I'll make pasta soon but I know it'll work just as good or even better because the cannoli dough is harder to work with than the pasta dough. Although you do need a strong surface with at least a 2 inch overhang in order to secure it to the countertop correctly. A table will work but be careful the wood isn't damaged from the pressure of the clamp. I have a granite baking counter with a 4 inch overhang. I had no problem securing the machine. I was easy to set up and work with. I didn't need any instructions either. It has 3 different cutting options. Already attached is a 6 inch wide full flat roller for making manicotti. And 2 additional attachments for making fettuccine and spaghetti. I recommend buying this pasta maker. You'll be pleased with your purchase.
